For one of our projects our client was inspired by our Veena wall and wanted a similar traditional accent wall. Drawing inspiration from a Telugu saying that loosely translates to “art can be created from anything,” we set upon creating a custom wall panel that incorporated a precious keepsake saree. Kanjivaram weaves hold a special place in every woman’s trousseau, treasured for their luxurious silks, intricate designs, and shimmering zari. It was only natural for us to transform something so exquisite into a stunning wall panel.

To highlight the saree wall, we painted the wall with a vibrant yellow that served as a bold canvas. Our DesiDIY team worked meticulously to create this custom masterpiece on-site for our client. Additionally, we carefully curated the space with artifacts collected from our client’s travels to India and our studio store, creating a harmonious and striking composition that exudes an unmistakable Indian essence. Our client added her personal touch by painting a kolam background, leaving her mark on the wall through her own DIY efforts.
