Farmhouse to serene oasis Webisode 1

Part 1

Bedrooms are sanctuaries – private, personal spaces meant for downtime and self-indulgence. After seven years, we have poured our hearts into giving our master bedroom a makeover that truly reflects our current style and sensibilities.

Over a period of 90 days, we meticulously planned the space. We then tackled the ceiling, flooring, created an accent wall, and even transformed a little nook. Our bedroom went from an outdated farmhouse style to a warm and inviting space with Zen vibes.

The Slat Ceiling

We went with a slatted ceiling to add a touch of whimsy. It turned out to be a dreamy and calming canvas to gaze at the end of the day. We definitely recommend adding an accent ceiling to your bedroom!

Here’s a detailed DIY guide if you would like to replicate this look.

Arched wallpaper wall

For the accent wall, we decided to go for a layered look of wood paneling and wallpaper. Extending the paneling to the adjacent wall added a striking design detail and a wonderful sense of flow to the entire space.

To elevate the backdrop, we added curved edges, charming leather accents, subtle back lighting, and finally, the pièce de résistance: the minimal monotone wallpaper. Its understated elegance pulled the entire space together, adding beautiful character, and creating a sense of calm and tranquility.

We have DIY instructions for the arched wall panel and wallpaper installation here.

Furniture selections

We wanted to pick light toned modern bed for our space and this was a perfect match for us. This happened to be a fabric bed and we have used scotch gaurd to safe guard it with dust and stains. Click on the pictures to go to the link.

SIMIlar styles

I have hand picked some modern bed selections that might go well with this theme.

Accents

Final styling accents add so much beauty to the space. I have picked décor accents that are functional and add aesthetic value to the space.

I have created a small HIS and HER nook on each side of the bed to hold the little things when you start to wind down.
