Project Vrindha

A majestic golden arch in a sleek acrylic frame, paired with a lush peace lily planter, creating a serene, elegant vignette.

This beautiful home holds a special place in my heart for how thoughtfully every corner was imagined. This wasn’t just another project—it was a creative adventure that started with a bold idea: What if the garden wasn’t outside, but above you?

That question sparked the beginning of Project Vrindha, and from the ceiling to the console decor, every detail began to bloom.

Designing this space meant layering Indian soul into a modern structure. The clients were looking for warmth, personality, and a hint of heritage—and I knew this was the perfect canvas to tell a story that felt deeply rooted yet fresh and contemporary.

Entryway

We begin at the entryway, where first impressions truly count. For this home, that moment begins at the entryway with a grand vintage prabhavali. We wanted this area to feel like a modern temple welcome—clean, grounded, and rich in symbolism.

We framed this carved golden arch—an antique prabhavali often seen in South Indian temples—in a sleek acrylic box to give it a fresh, modern twist while still letting its history shine. Right below, we added a bed of peace lilies in a matte black planter for a soft, grounded vibe. It’s the kind of moment that quietly makes a statement: this home is deeply rooted in tradition, but it’s not afraid to grow and evolve with a contemporary edge.

Living Room

The living room was designed to be equal parts luxurious and serene. We wanted a central element to ground the space, so we introduced a stunning two-tone and blackout marble fireplace that features bold geometric veining. It instantly became the showstopper—adding drama, depth, and a sense of quiet permanence. Above, the Buddha Bead Chandelier floats like a halo of light, tying the room together with its sculptural form and soft glow—it’s the kind of fixture that feels more like an art piece than just lighting. And if you look up, that striking ceiling panel? It’s actually the Gold Metal Geometric Cut-Out Single Panel Fireplace Screen with Mesh Netting—repurposed in the most unexpected, fabulous way. A true testament to how design magic happens when you think outside the box (or in this case, off the wall).

To balance that boldness, we created this custom-built shelf unit that brings in a bit of whimsy and wonder. We started with sleek black floating shelves and layered in sculptural elements that each tell their own story—a ceramic horse, a serene white Garuda.

The checkered box at the bottom adds a fun, graphic twist, and the warm backlighting gives the whole corner a soft, inviting glow. It’s one of those spaces that feels both curated and cozy. We also brought in the Stainless Steel Metal Decorative Vase for a sleek metallic moment that plays beautifully against the wood tones.

To complement this, we added a curved limewash TV wall that mimics the softness of natural earth. The ceiling above features gold fluted panels that bounce light beautifully and add a sense of vertical grandeur.

The seating features a rich green velvet accent chair and a pillow that has a Raja Ravivarma painting on its pillowcase.

For the bigger seat, we went with the Coburn Five-Piece Motion Corner Sectional—a cloud-like sectional that’s as cozy as it is stylish. It hugs the corner of the room perfectly and adds that relaxed, sink-in-and-stay-awhile vibe and a sculptural porcelain marble coffee table that ties in the tones of the fireplace. Every corner was touched with layered lighting—halo chandeliers, modern pendant sconces, and under-shelf LED glows—to create soft ambiance throughout the day.

Dining

Just adjacent to the living area is the dining space—small, cozy, but with loads of personality. We didn’t want to crowd it with heavy furniture, so we opted for a sleek round dining table surrounded by forest green boucle chairs with matte black legs.

The highlight of this corner is a striking red Pichwai-inspired artwork depicting sacred cows in festive attire. We wanted this art to represent the playfulness of Vrindavan, while also bringing in a modern gallery feel. It instantly brightens up the wall and draws the eye in.

Ceiling

Now let’s talk about the crown jewel of the entire home: the ceiling.

We envisioned a garden in the sky—a blooming Vrindavan—so we brought in a custom wallpaper mural that featured divine, pastoral scenes with 4-Light Glass Ball Sputnik Chandelier. It flows beautifully above the entry, drawing guests into a story before they even reach the living space. Framed in crisp white molding, the ceiling feels like a portal to a different world, encouraging everyone who enters to look up and smile.

The Dasavatara Wall

The final touch in Project Vrindha was subtle but powerful. In the dining area, we created a minimalist Dasavatara wall where each form of Vishnu is framed in orange leather niches, allowing them to stand like sentinels of culture and peace. Flanking the arrangement, we added two sleek vertical sconces—barely-there in design, but big on presence. They cast a soft halo that elevates the sacredness of the display without ever stealing the spotlight. It’s a quiet homage—but if you look closely, you’ll find Krishna hidden among them. Just like in Vrindavan, he isn’t gone—he’s simply playing hide and seek. To keep the vibe contemporary and airy, we anchored the wall with a bold transparent console table.

Wrapping Up

Project Vrindha was more than just a home makeover—it was a celebration of culture, nature, and creativity. It brought together limewash textures, Indian art, sculptural furniture, and a sense of storytelling that made the space feel sacred and stylish at once.

Every design choice—be it a vase, a ceiling, or a piece of lighting—was rooted in a larger story. And I can’t wait to tell the next one.

Stay tuned as we share more behind-the-scenes, shopping links, and transformation videos. Until then—thank you for walking with us through Vrindha.
