I have taken up an 8 week challenge to transform a space for #oneroomchallenge hosted by betterhomesandgardens. I choose to transform my living room wall by adding a shelving unit beside my fireplace.
So this is how my living room looked before the transformation.
If you have missed my updates for all these 8 weeks, you can check them out now:

My living room has plenty of light popping in and I so wanted to try something darker initially. But I wanted to keep my fireplace as the focal point so decided to go lighter on the sides and keep it subtle.
This project has been in plan for more then 3 years now, thanks to ORC I was able to make it finally 😉 Or else my husband would have kept this project in to do list forever :P.
I would like to thank all the sponsors who had trusted me on this project and have cordially sponsored their products to make this complete. Weaber lumber has a great quality lumber and a beautiful fluted trim which made my shelving a total new look. All the shining blacks you in my shelving are done using the KRYLON paints.
I have had some artifacts saved from more than 3 years to style them in my TV shelving and they have finally got the spotlight. The beautiful lighting provided by lightsonline has made an awestruck impact in the entire room. The subtle and elegant combination f black and gold collection from Savoy house has complimented the color palette and bought in a modern vibes to the entire space.
The neutral colored rug from wellwovenrugs is the showstopper to the whole decor. I was first skeptical with the unique colors and textures it had when I saw it online. But this GRACE rug was a total game changer. with the subtle colors and elegant design, it has gracefully blended in my living room.
My blue and white sofa were my favorites and I haven’t changed them. do checkout my Week1 for the sources of my original furniture pieces and my old rug link.
And now looking at all the pictures you must be curios to know the sources for my shelving décor. I have put all of them together at your finger tips!! The black large buddha and the large brass Veera Bhadra are rare finds and collectibles that I gathered over time.
So here are my sources …….click on the images to go to the link.
The prabhavali stand, the Tara on stand and the gold devi shadow box are specific customized products by desidiy, which are originally bought from Indian vendors. You can send us a message for placing an order. I have put together my coffee table decor sources as well for you guys 🙂
And yes, I wanna talk about my coffee table, I made that coffee table all by myself as a last minute DIY and I really love the way it looks in my living room. Yes, I would be posting the complete instructions on it too…so stay tuned!!
Hope you liked my ORC journey as much as I did. Please drop in your comments on how did you like my makeover and things that you wanna see in my blog!! Dont forget to checkout the ORC reveals of the featured designers.
